Where did my website ranking in Google go? by R. Lang
Search Engines are forever changing the way they index and Google is no exception. Rumor has it that they have been ranking pages differently, so maybe an adjustment is in order. On the other hand, maybe if you have good content there is no need for a change. It looks like content is in or maybe it was never out. Content driven sites often build their own devices on traffic just by having articles their customers seek out.
101 - Basic Training - Content Article that appeal to your customer base. More text and selective images that are used to draw your attention to the content. Have good structured code so the spiders have an easy way to get through your site. JavaScript can often load up a page with too many lines of code that do nothing for your rankings in the search engines. Get in a habit of storing the code in your .js files. The cleaner the writing of the your code the better. Don't use trick such as redirecting the same content unless you want to see your site disappear from ranking
102 - The Whole Picture - Website marketing plan How many of you have ever though of doing a marketing plan for your web site? You have one for your business and isn't your website about your business? Look at 3 month, 6month, and 1 year milestones to reach. Set you goals high. Know your customer base. Search Engine should be part of this plan but by looking at the whole picture with creating a marketing plan, you will not be putting all of your eggs in one basket.
201 - Get on with building solid business practices. Tricks and schemes are often short lived in the lives of any business that uses this route. If your business's SEO plan includes good solid material with a good internal and external linking system, and well-written and clean code you will have a solid foundation.
